Serbian Software firm opens office in Boston

This firm started business in 2001 in Serbia, and now there are in Bulgaria, Albania and United States. It is very good for small country like Serbia, to start business in United States. I hope this is going to help in business relationship between Serbia and United States.

Direct Selling

Lia Sophia is a company that sells jewelry. The way that they sell jewelry is that they have sales advisors who book parties and go to someone’s house to present the jewelry products to the guests. The hostess of the party usually receives a lot of free jewelry and the more that guests purchase and set up bookings for their own parties, the hostess receives even more jewelry. People like this means of sales because this allows people the opportunity to spend time with their friends and have a good time while having the chance to purchase some lovely jewelry in the process. This is a good example of direct sales.

Wacky Advertising

I think this advertisment caught almost everyone's attention. Nike and their wacky advertisments had to go extreme, so they would be noticed.

Cell-Phone Market in Europe

The cell-phone industry is very developed in Europe. Today everybody has a cell-phone, from all age groups, and all walks of life. In my country everybody has a cell-phone that is no more than a year old, and wherever you go you have a signal. You can be in the woods or between the mountains, and you will always have a signal. The cell-phone market is very diverse. You can buy the newest cell-phone on the market. They are expensive, especially in my country where people don’t make lot of money. But still people are going to buy a cell-phone before anything else. Prepaid cards have brought in millions of new users, especially in Southern Europe. In Europe it costs nothing to receive a cell-phone call. Prepaid cards are great for the youth population, who are the main users of cell-phones, because they don’t have a monthly bill and they use mostly text messaging because it cost much less than to actually call someone.

Staples in Europe

http://www.supplychainbrain.com/content/industry-verticals/retail/single-article-page/article/increased-european-sales-for-staples-yeah-weve-got-that/?adcode=90

Economy in the European Union is growing rapidly. Many companies in the United States are trying to expand their markets into Europe. Framingham, Mass-based Staples, second largest office products superstore retailer in the United States is trying aggressively to improve its sales and market in Europe. The trick is to duplicate Staple’s success in the United States where they already have 1200 superstores, and New York alone has about 100 superstores. Still, they are trying to find the needs of the European market. Last fall Staples opened a new European headquarters, distribution center, and call center in Belgium. Staples up to this point, has 165 retail stores in Europe. It has stores in Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Portugal. Even though Staples is a relatively new company in Europe, it is more efficient than most European retailers.

Where is My Food?

I think this is very interesting article. I had very bad experience for my super-bowl party. I ordered a dinner from a particular place in Brighton, and they said it was going to take about 45 minutes to arrive at my house. I was waiting for an hour and a half, and I didn’t get my food. I called them, but nobody picked up the phone. Finally I got them on the phone and they said that they had run out of ingredients, and they couldn’t deliver my food. I was angry, because they should have called me and told me what was going on with my food. With today’s technology I think every business should have a tracking system in place, so you know when your food is going to arrive to your house and you know that it is fresh.
